Habitat Hamilton

Habitat for Humanity Hamilton is a renowned organization that has been serving the Hamilton region since its inception in 1991. As an independent, not-for-profit charity, Habitat Hamilton focuses on building affordable housing and promoting homeownership. With the support of a dedicated board of directors, staff members, and a vast network of volunteers and supporters, they have become one of Habitat Canada's fastest-growing affiliates.

Through their Home Build Program, Habitat Hamilton constructs homes and offers interest-free and geared-to-income mortgages to individuals who would otherwise struggle to secure conventional mortgages. This initiative has already provided safe and stable homes for 33 local Habitat homeowners. Habitat for Humanity Hamilton's service area includes the City of Hamilton, Haldimand County, and the territories of the Six Nations of the Grand River and the Mississaugas of the New Credit, with a total population of approximately 800,000 people.

Operating under the umbrella of Habitat for Humanity Canada, Habitat for Humanity Hamilton is a part of a nationwide movement that aims to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing across the country.
