Description

Hackett Publishing Company (HPC) is a privately held, independent publisher that has been established since 1972. With offices in Indianapolis and Cambridge, HPC is committed to providing a high standard of quality in its books and maintaining strong relationships with its authors. The company's founder, Bill Hackett, started HPC as a response to the lack of attention given to the humanities by other publishers.

HPC's first books focused on philosophy and included notable translations of Plato's dialogues by G. M. A.

Grube, as well as the revival of Arthur Hyman and James Walshโ€™s Philosophy in the Middle Ages. What sets HPC apart is its partnership approach to publishing, involving close collaboration between authors and the publishing team. This approach, along with HPC's commitment to affordable pricing, has led to the company's success and expansion into various fields such as philosophy, political theory, classics, history, literature, Latin American studies, and Asian thought.

With a long-term perspective and a dedicated staff, HPC continues to provide exceptional books and maintain its independence in the publishing world
