About

Description

HACU, the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, is a national educational association dedicated to the success of Hispanic students in higher education. Established in 1986, HACU now represents over 500 colleges and universities across the United States, Latin America, Spain, and U. S.

HACU is the only association that specifically represents Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). These institutions, which make up only 17% of higher education institutions nationwide, are home to two-thirds of all Hispanic college students. HACU's mission is to improve access to and the quality of postsecondary educational opportunities for Hispanic students, while also meeting the needs of business, industry, and government.

The organization achieves this through advocacy, resources, and expertise sharing. HACU's Office of Government Relations works closely with federal agencies, offices, and business organizations, while the Office of Policy Analysis and Information conducts research on Hispanic higher education success. HACU's conferences and special events provide valuable platforms for collaboration, including the National Capitol Forum on Hispanic Higher Education and the Annual Conference.

In addition, HACU offers internships, scholarships, and career development opportunities for thousands of young Hispanics. With its headquarters in San Antonio, Texas, and regional offices in Washington, D. C., and Sacramento, California, HACU continues to champion Hispanic success in higher education
