## Description

The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) is a non-profit advocacy organization based in Washington D.C. Since its establishment in 2003, HAF's dedicated work has had a significant impact on a wide range of issues. They actively address the portrayal of Hinduism in K-12 textbooks, civil and human rights, and contemporary challenges such as environmental protection and inter-religious conflict. HAF achieves this by applying Hindu philosophy to promote positive change. HAF's efforts encompass various areas, including free speech, international religious freedom, LGBT rights, religious liberty, hate crimes, immigration, women's rights in India, and more. Additionally, HAF offers extensive resources to educate and empower the community, such as teaching resources, bullying prevention initiatives, and a comprehensive understanding of Hinduism. They also provide cultural proficiency and diversity training programs and a Dharma Ambassadors Program. Through their podcasts, That's So Hindu and All About Hinduism, HAF amplifies voices and perspectives that shape Hinduism in various domains. With their commitment to advocacy and education, the Hindu American Foundation plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of Hindu Americans and fostering a greater understanding of Hinduism.
