## Description

Haikei is a Japanese website devoted to documenting and introducing the fragile, evocative world of abandoned places. Created by Non, a lifelong ruins enthusiast, the site presents locations discovered and recorded during trips by motorcycle and car, with a particular interest in abandoned clinics, schools, and amusement parks. Its archive spans sites across Japan, organized by region and by categories such as hospitals, accommodation, industrial facilities, transport infrastructure, religious sites, and wartime remains. Visitors can browse featured stories, recent posts, and collections, with entries highlighting the atmosphere and surviving details of individual locations. The site also invites readers to share information about ruins they have encountered or heard about, exchange knowledge, and request investigations. It explains that identifying these places can require extensive research and that many face demolition or collapse. Haikei is therefore both an editorial record of Japan’s abandoned sites and a community resource for people interested in exploring and learning about these often overlooked places.
