## Description

Haiti Help is a small, volunteer-run charity based in Central Fife, founded in 2009 by three nurses. The organization focuses on improving lives on La Gonave, a Haitian island of approximately 120,000 to 150,000 residents affected by severe poverty and malnutrition. It states that 100% of donations go toward its work and partners with three local organizations to provide medical care, education, food, and community support.

Through Wesleyen Hospital, the island’s only permanent medical facility, Haiti Help contributes to an indigent fund that enables around 90 to 100 people each year to access critical care. Its support for OKIPE Children’s Village helps provide education and healthy meals; the village accommodates up to 80 children and educates 300. Haiti Help also funds teachers, assists families, and supports an elderly and disabled food programme through ASHOG, a local self-help group.

The charity aims to raise £2,000 monthly. Donations can help provide family meals, antibiotics, hens for egg production, school attendance, and food for households.
