## Description

Hafıza Merkezi is a human rights and transitional justice organisation working to expose violations in conflict settings and under authoritarian rule, support accountability, and contribute to a peaceful, democratic future. Its work brings together truth-seeking, remembrance, legal action, advocacy, and peacebuilding, with a focus on confronting difficult histories and defending human rights.

The organisation documents and reports serious human rights violations, preserves public memory, and undertakes peace initiatives. Through its legal work, it seeks to improve access to justice for groups affected by abuses and to support accountability. It also monitors and reports on pressure against human rights defenders and the shrinking of civic space, while providing related support. Hafıza Merkezi develops partnerships with civil society organisations and individuals in Turkey, neighbouring regions, and internationally to advance peace, remembrance, and human rights.

Its public resources include research reports, policy papers, articles, translations, videos, and project websites. Recent publications and activities address violations affecting children and young people, the right to peaceful assembly, surveillance technologies, youth perspectives on negotiation, and memory in divided cities. The organisation also convenes workshops and youth programmes and shares updates through its website and newsletter.
