## Description

Halesworth ASH, the Halesworth Area Sustainability Hub, connects local people, ideas and projects to help build a thriving, nature-friendly and climate-resilient community. Established to support the area’s move towards net zero, it grew from collaboration between Halesworth Town Council and Blyth Valley Churches, linking the group with civic networks and 14 church communities. Its work spans energy, food, waste, biodiversity, education and community engagement.

The organisation brings people together through conferences and themed weekends, local events, green film screenings at Halesworth’s Cut Arts Centre, and activities with partner organisations. Topics have included land and food, energy, community power and biodiversity. Halesworth ASH also shares monthly e-newsletters with supporters about events and local initiatives.

For schools, it offers free sustainability and environmental workshops and assemblies, helping pupils understand environmental issues and take positive action in their school and community. Its Education Officer can also support schools with Climate Action Plans. The website provides resources on reducing carbon footprints, including information about energy, water and biodiversity, alongside links to related organisations and local and county council resources.
