The Halfmoon Bay Fire Department is dedicated to protecting the community of Halfmoon Bay by safeguarding life, property, and the environment. With a team of 27 members, including 20 volunteer firefighters, 5 volunteer Officers, and 2 career Chief Officers, the department is well-equipped to respond to various emergency situations. Their services encompass fire protection, rescue and emergency medical services, public fire and life safety education, fire inspections, training, and administration.

Under the guidance of the Fire Chief or Deputy Fire Chief, who are accountable to the Sunshine Coast Regional District, the department swiftly addresses emergency calls, ranging from structure fires to grass fires, rescues, auto extrications, and hazardous material reports. In 2022 alone, the team responded to 176 callouts. Operating out of two Fire Halls located at 8972 Redrooffs Rd and 7884 Fawn Rd, the Halfmoon Bay Fire Department ensures a prompt 24/7 emergency response.
