## Description

Hertfordshire Association for Local History (HALH) is a registered charity that promotes the study and enjoyment of local history across Hertfordshire. It connects people interested in the county’s past and helps them discover local history societies, groups, speakers and resources. Its website links to more than 40 local history organisations and shares news, events and information about research and preservation.

HALH offers a programme of activities, including spring meetings, summer visits, symposiums and online winter lectures. It also highlights talks and lectures from partner organisations, covering local history, archaeology and related subjects. Members can access a discount on lectures offered by the British Association for Local History, using a code supplied by HALH.

The association supports historical learning through publications, including the Hertfordshire Publications series, and through initiatives such as awards for personal achievement and guidance on preserving research data. Its resources include newsletters, Herts Past & Present, a local speakers’ list and links to relevant websites.
