## Description

Haminan Uimaseura is a swimming club founded in 1909 and the only club in Hamina dedicated exclusively to swimming. Its main goal is to help local children and young people learn to swim, while welcoming adults and anyone else interested in swimming. The club offers instruction in both small and large pools, with 21 weekly groups: nine in the smaller pool and 12 in the larger one. Beginners develop essential water skills in the small pool before progressing to swimming technique instruction in the large pool. Lessons use games to make practice enjoyable rather than repetitive. Children can join the club’s activities from the age of four. In addition to recreational swimming groups, Haminan Uimaseura runs a competitive swimming group, which currently has 11 swimmers. The club also lists an adult group and publishes information about courses, registration, schedules, and swimming results. Through its lessons and group activities, the club supports swimming skills and participation in the local community.
