## Description

Hanayomi is a free Japanese–English dictionary designed to help learners explore vocabulary, kanji, and Japanese readings. Users can search for words and characters directly or browse a collection organized by JLPT levels, from N5 through N1, and by topic, including nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, particles, and other categories. The site also offers ways to practice kanji stroke order and explore related words grouped into flower-like word families, making vocabulary discovery more visual and connected.

Hanayomi supports Japanese and English, with Portuguese and Spanish also listed among its language options. Suggested searches include everyday words and characters, such as “study,” “to eat,” “water,” and “dog.” The dictionary draws on JMdict, KANJIDIC2, and KRADFILE/RADKFILE data, which are credited to the EDRDG and used under the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence.
