## Description

Hanhijärvi-Saarijärvi osakaskunta is a Finnish local water-area association formed on 27 March 2025 during a property-division meeting. It covers approximately 2,480 hectares of water around Loukee, Vehmaskylä, Koskentaipale, Kuvaala, Huuhanaho, Tuhkala and Remojärvi, including the larger lakes Hanhijärvi and Saarijärvi. The association manages fishing access and water stewardship across its area, providing information on permits, maps, restrictions, fishing supervision and commercial fishing. Anglers can find guidance on state fisheries management fees, trolling permits and fishing gear tags, as well as advice on responsible fishing. Its water-management work includes fish stocking, water-quality information, projects and catch management. The association’s website also shares information about waterfowl hunting, local history and events, and offers practical services and recreation opportunities. These include rowing-boat and cottage rentals, mooring and boat-launch facilities, excursion destinations and routes, fishing tourism information, guest harbours and contacts for fish sellers. Visitors can also access guidance on handling catches and preparing fish dishes. The association approved new rules when it organized on the day it was established.
