## Description

The Harding Center for Risk Competence is dedicated to enhancing public understanding and navigation of risks in an increasingly digital world. Founded by David Harding, the center conducts research and develops tools to help individuals make informed, risk-aware decisions. Their work spans various topics related to health and safety, including cancer prevention, vaccinations, and the implications of electronic health records.

Key projects at the center include the VaccineComm Project, the RiskAtlas, and the CoWiS Project, which explore how citizens can effectively engage with algorithmic decision-making and scientific evidence. The center also focuses on risk communication, creating accessible resources that make complex information understandable for both the general public and healthcare professionals. Through publications, media contributions, and educational quizzes, the Harding Center advocates for a risk-conscious society equipped to handle uncertainty and challenges in health-related matters. Their initiatives aim to transform how risks and statistical data are perceived, ultimately fostering a better-informed populace.
