## Description

The American Harp Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and advancing the harp as an integral part of musical culture. Founded in 1993 by members of the American Harp Society, it provides a lasting home for donor-designated funds, safeguarding and growing endowments for educational projects. The Foundation houses 19 funds, each used according to its donor’s intent, and supports harpists across classical, folk, historical, and jazz traditions.

Its programs include scholarships, awards, and competitions that help gifted young harpists develop their skills and pursue professional careers. Opportunities include the Anne Adams Awards, the Marcel Grandjany Memorial Competition, the Lucile Lawrence Award, and the Kathy Bundock Moore Scholarship. The Foundation also helps fund programs benefiting the American Harp Society, its members, and, through newer funds, other harp organizations and individuals.

Run by dedicated volunteers, the organization welcomes donations from individuals and chapters. Contributions help sustain educational opportunities for emerging harp artists, while endowment earnings support awards over time.
