## Description

Härveli Diving Club (Uimahyppääjien kerho Härveli ry) is a Helsinki-based diving club welcoming people of different ages and skill levels. Founded in 1946, it is Finland’s oldest diving club and the country’s only diving club recognised as a Tähtiseura, a quality programme for sports organisations.

The club offers training for children aged six and up, young people and adults, including beginner courses for those with at least 25 metres of swimming ability. Instruction starts with the basics and progresses gradually, allowing participants to develop at their own pace. Sessions typically combine dryland practice, such as warm-ups, stretching and acrobatics on mats or trampolines, with pool training. Divers practise from the pool edge, springboards and platforms, with individual guidance and attention to safety.

Courses are held at venues including Mäkelänrinne and Pirkkola, and new course schedules and registration information are shared through the club’s website and newsletter. Härveli also supports its activities through a club shop selling merchandise and offers an informative book about diving for beginners, families and curious readers.
