Humanities Commons, formerly known as HASTAC Commons, is one of the world's oldest and most prominent academic networks. With over 18,000 members from 400+ affiliate organizations, Humanities Commons is a hub for collaboration and interdisciplinary research. The name HASTAC stands for the Humanities, Arts, Science, and Technology Alliance and Collaboratory.

Their mission is to change the ways we teach and learn through equitable, lifelong, and peer-to-peer collaborative pedagogies. At the core of Humanities Commons is the belief in Collaboration by Difference, fostering a network dedicated to social justice with zero tolerance for discrimination. One of the key features of Humanities Commons is the ability to create Sites, which are Wordpress websites that allow users to publish and share content to a broader audience beyond the Commons.

Sites can be used for various purposes, such as blogs, course sites, digital portfolios, and even digital journals or event sites. The available themes and plugins can be customized within the administrator area of each site. Whether you are an individual user or a group, you have the flexibility to create multiple sites.
