## Description

Haus Publishing is an independent brand that specializes in the publication of politics, history, biography, memoir, and travel writing. Established in London in 2003 by Barbara Schwepcke, Haus Publishing draws inspiration from the renowned German publishing house Rowohlt and has since expanded its offerings. Initially known for its Life&Times series, which featured short biographies such as the translation of Sebastian Haffner's Churchill, Haus has since broadened its list to include history, politics, current affairs, memoirs, art books, and translated fiction. The brand's imprint, Armchair Traveller, focuses on publishing travel writing from around the world, while its literary fiction collection features renowned authors like Thomas Mann, Clarice Lispector, and Érik Orsenna. With well-established series like Haus Curiosities and Makers of the Modern World, Haus Publishing releases 25 books annually and maintains a catalogue of over 250 titles. Their recent bestsellers include Afghan Napoleon by Sandy Gall, The Serpent Coiled in Naples by Marius Kociejowski, and Leadership by Simon McDonald.
