Haven Society is a leading anti-violence organization committed to promoting the integrity and safety of women, children, youth, and families within our community. Operating from feminist principles, our mission is achieved through a range of services, public education, and advocacy. At Haven Society, we firmly believe that no one deserves to be abused, and violence has no place in relationships or society.

We recognize that relationship and societal violence stem from an imbalance and misuse of power and control. By fostering values such as equality, mutual respect, self-esteem, and interdependence, we strive to cultivate healthy relationships and a healthy society. Education and awareness play a vital role in preventing violence.

Our services include providing shelter for women and their children who have experienced physical, sexual, and/or emotional abuse. We offer programs, such as counseling, crisis support, and advocacy services, to individuals and families facing violence. Additionally, we provide education, develop innovative programs, and initiate violence prevention activities to raise public awareness and promote social change.

Throughout our history, we have expanded our facilities and services to meet the growing needs of the community. We have opened Haven Houses, established counseling services, and launched initiatives such as the Community Victim Services Program and the Domestic Violence Unit. In collaboration with other organizations, we continue to pioneer projects like the Sexual Assault Response Program and the Mid-Island Men's Services.

Looking towards the future, we aim to share our expertise through training workshops, build new transition houses and second-stage housing, and collaborate on anti-violence initiatives for youth and families.
