## Description

The Hawai'i Songwriting Festival, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2002, is dedicated to promoting music education and collaboration among musicians from various communities. Originally known as the Kaua'i Music Festival, the organization successfully hosted the KMF Songwriter's Conference for twelve years on Kaua'i before relocating to the Big Island in 2015. Committed to embodying the Aloha spirit, the festival aims to develop, support, and share music through a series of engaging events throughout the year. These include educational workshops, networking opportunities, open mic sessions, and showcases that culminate in an annual music conference each summer. The organization also offers various scholarships, such as the Henry Kapono Foundation Scholarship and the Jason Mraz Foundation Scholarship, to support aspiring songwriters. Through these initiatives, the Hawai'i Songwriting Festival plays a significant role in nurturing talent and fostering a vibrant music community both locally and internationally.
