## Description

HBI C-Flex is a European research and innovation project focused on the reoxidation behaviour and stability of direct reduced iron and hot briquetted iron (HBI). It studies materials with varying iron and carbon content, with the aim of supporting safer handling and transport as the steel industry moves towards decarbonised production. The project brings together a ten-partner consortium of steel producers, plant builders, research and technology organisations, and universities from Austria, Germany, Belgium, France and the Netherlands. Its partners include K1-MET, the Köppern Group, Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg, Tata Steel, CRM Group, ArcelorMittal, Primetals Technologies, voestalpine and Montanuniversität Leoben. An international Supportive Advisory Board, led by the International Iron Metallics Association, contributes expertise on HBI production and handling. HBI C-Flex shares project news, event updates, research information and public deliverables through its website and newsletter. The project also publishes updates about consortium meetings and partner activities, helping interested audiences follow its work and emerging research outputs.
