## Description

H.C. Andersen-Samfundet i København is a Danish association dedicated to keeping interest in Hans Christian Andersen alive and encouraging research and study of his life and works. Founded in 1936, it brings together people who enjoy Andersen’s writing and want to learn more about the celebrated author. Members and visitors can take part in lectures, readings and excursions following in Andersen’s footsteps. The association also awards the H.C. Andersen Medal every other year, recognising contributions connected with his literary and artistic legacy. Through its cultural foundation, it provides modest support for projects that advance its purpose. Its website shares information about membership, events, past activities, the foundation and medal recipients, alongside articles about Andersen, his works and related cultural discoveries. The association also maintains a presence on Facebook and Instagram to share its activities and invite wider interest. Membership is open to those who appreciate Andersen’s writing; prior knowledge is not required, and members pay a modest fee. H.C.
