## Description

High Country News is a brand that delves into various topics surrounding the West, including public lands, indigenous affairs, water, climate change, wildfires, arts, and culture. They offer a magazine subscription and an online platform for readers to stay informed about these pressing issues. In an intriguing essay titled Let’s talk about Indian romance novels, High Country News explores the absurdity of hunky white men in redface on the covers of such novels. The author recalls her own experience stumbling upon a particularly cringe-worthy cover and feeling embarrassed. As a teenager, she sought more realistic and captivating narratives, and romance novels provided a window into the world beyond her rural and conservative background. With its engaging content and dedication to discussing important topics, High Country News is a must-read for those interested in the complexities of the West.
