# The Health and Care Professions Council - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `hcpc-uk.email` ## Description The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is a UK-wide regulator whose primary purpose is to protect the public and support safe, effective health and care practice. By law, professionals in the occupations it regulates must be registered with the HCPC to work in the UK. Its Register covers 15 professions, including physiotherapists, paramedics, occupational therapists, biomedical scientists, radiographers, and speech and language therapists. The HCPC sets standards for registrants’ conduct, performance, ethics, and professional proficiency, as well as requirements for continuing professional development. It approves and monitors education and training programmes that lead to registration, helping ensure that learners are prepared to meet those standards. The organisation also provides information about joining, renewing, or leaving the Register and offers an online tool for checking registration. Members of the public can raise concerns about professionals, and the HCPC investigates whether registrants meet its requirements, taking action when necessary. The council also publishes guidance, learning resources, research, news, and information for registrants, employers, education providers, students, and the public. ## Industries - ⚖️ Law and Government - ⚖️ Government _(under Law and Government)_ - ⛑ Health - ⛑ Public Health and Safety _(under Health)_ ## Links - [facebook](https://facebook.com/hcpcuk) - [linkedin](https://linkedin.com/company/the-health-and-care-professions-council) - [twitter](https://twitter.com/the_hcpc) - [youtube](https://youtube.com/user/HCPCuk) ## Logos & icons - icon _(primary)_ — JPEG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idGQKxD2Le/w/400/h/400/theme/dark/icon.jpeg?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1793009403547) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Chambray | #344e86 | accent | | Prairie Sand | #9a3324 | dark | | Cream Brulee | #ffdf9f | light | ## Imagery - banner _(primary)_ — JPEG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idGQKxD2Le/w/4356/h/1089/id-9cqHgHV.jpeg?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1793009404289) --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
