## Description

Headway East Lothian is a local charity supporting people in East Lothian who are living with acquired brain injuries, as well as their families and carers. Founded in 2004 by people with personal or professional experience of brain injury, it is affiliated with Headway UK, the national brain injury association. Headway UK promotes understanding of brain injury and provides information, support and services.

The organisation aims to improve quality of life through practical assistance, social connection and community-based activities. It hosts regular local meetings and outings to places of interest, and offers support and advice to carers. Members can join groups and activities, including arts and crafts, and may receive help with tasks such as completing welfare forms. A monthly newsletter shares updates about activities and upcoming events.

Headway East Lothian employs a Development Officer to sustain and develop its service. It operates locally while maintaining links with the national organisation, and welcomes people who want to get involved or seek support.
