## Description

Health Citizens is a European research center focused on translating scientific evidence into policy and practical initiatives that improve health and well-being. With locations in Brussels and Lisbon, the organization works across environmental health, mental health, healthcare innovation, social inclusion, and community resilience. Its research covers issues such as PFAS and microplastics, climate-related environmental change, and the effects of environmental factors on the brain. Health Citizens also develops and participates in projects addressing children’s mental health literacy, family well-being, older people’s health, Alzheimer’s care, antimicrobial resistance diagnostics, and the rights and health of migrants and other vulnerable groups. Its work includes exploring responsible use of artificial intelligence in healthcare, including ways to identify and reduce bias in mental health prediction and support hospitals and civil society organizations in applying ethical and legal standards. Alongside research and publications, the center advances practical solutions such as community resilience training, accessible communication tools, personalized education, and support networks for people affected by crises.
