## Description

The Health Equity Alliance of Tallahassee (HEAT) is a community partnership focused on improving health equity through research, collaboration, and local action. Its partners include university researchers, community members, and local policymakers, who work together through community-based participatory research. HEAT’s mission is to bridge the gap between research and action by explaining and addressing the causes of social inequalities in health.

Rather than offering commercial products, HEAT provides community-focused projects, information, and opportunities for involvement. Its work includes initiatives addressing food environments and heart health, alongside research and news related to health disparities, such as racial inequalities in birth outcomes. The alliance also organizes meetings and other events, welcomes community members to participate or submit event listings, and invites people to contact the organization about ways to support health equity locally. Visitors can explore updates and project information on its website and sign up for an email newsletter featuring news and event announcements.
