## Description

Health Focus of Southwest Virginia, formerly known as the Lewis-Gale Foundation, has been serving as a Community Health Education Center since 1964. Founded by a group of dedicated medical professionals and community leaders, Health Focus strives to promote medical progress in the Roanoke Valley and advocate for a healthier community. Offering a range of services, Health Focus aims to encourage and facilitate continuing education for medical professionals by providing a convenient place to stay up-to-date with advancements in their respective fields. Additionally, the organization supports needy and worthy students pursuing careers in healthcare through scholarships, having awarded an impressive $3.9 million since 1966, primarily to Virginia residents and those attending Virginia schools. Furthermore, Health Focus preserves medical history by collecting and displaying items of medical historical interest. Despite transitioning to an independent entity, the mission and courses of action established by the founding Board of Directors continue to drive Health Focus's dedication to improving community health and well-being in Southwest Virginia.
