## Description

Healthwatch Merton is an independent champion for people who use health and social care services in the London Borough of Merton. It works to ensure that local services and government listen to people’s experiences and put the public at the heart of care. The organisation gathers and shares local views, provides opportunities for residents to have their say, and works with service providers to support improvements and local change. Its activities include publishing news, research, reports and briefings on health and care topics, as well as offering practical advice and information to help people understand services, find support and make complaints. Recent publications and coverage address issues such as accessible information in GP practices, pharmacy closures, local community needs and children’s cancer services. Healthwatch Merton also shares updates through e-bulletins and news alerts, and encourages people to get involved through volunteering, events and other opportunities. Its work is intended to benefit both service users and providers by bringing community perspectives into discussions about how health and social care are planned and delivered.
