## Description

**Brand Description: Healthy Firefighters**

Healthy Firefighters is a pioneering initiative dedicated to safeguarding the health and well-being of firefighters, particularly in preventing occupational diseases such as cancer. Established in 2006 in Skellefteå, Sweden, the program has gained recognition and is now implemented as a standard across 17 European countries. The core of the Healthy Firefighters project is the "Skellefteå Model," which provides clear decontamination protocols aimed at enhancing the work environment for fire and rescue service personnel.

The initiative emphasizes the importance of starting each shift in clean protective clothing that effectively shields firefighters from harmful contaminants. It promotes proper gear decontamination procedures to separate contaminated items from clean ones, ensuring a safer working environment. Additionally, Healthy Firefighters offers resources like a free e-book that shares practical tips for reducing exposure to harmful substances. By fostering partnerships and encouraging community engagement, Healthy Firefighters aims to elevate standards of health and safety for those who risk their lives to protect others.
