About
Description
The Escambia County Healthy Start Coalition, based in Pensacola, FL, is a private, non-profit organization committed to improving the health and developmental outcomes for pregnant women and babies in Florida. Established in 1991, as part of Florida's Healthy Start legislation, their mission is to reduce infant mortality, decrease the number of low birth weight babies, and ensure better overall health and development for all of Florida's babies. As one of thirty-two non-profit organizations dedicated to this cause, the Escambia County Healthy Start Coalition relies on community input to design and implement a comprehensive system of care for at-risk pregnant women and children up to age three.
They connect families with programs and resources that best address their needs. Funding for the Coalition comes from the Florida Department of Health's Healthy Start Initiative, local and national grants, as well as generous donations from the community. They operate with transparency and integrity, and foster strategic partnerships to optimize the use of community resources.
To learn more about their services, resources, and upcoming events, visit their website or contact them directly. They are open Monday-Thursday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
