The Healthy Start Coalition of Hardee, Highlands, and Polk County is dedicated to promoting and supporting healthy pregnancies, babies, and families. Their mission is to maximize the health and wellness of childbearing women and their families by linking community resources.

The coalition's commitment is twofold: to establish partnerships among various sectors and organizations to offer coordinated, community-based care for pregnant women and infants, and to promote and protect the health and well-being of all pregnant women and children by providing accessible healthcare programs. They offer a range of programs, including Beds 4 Babies/Safe Sleep, Fetal and Infant Mortality Review, Healthy Start Program, MIECHV – NFP, Safe Haven for Newborns, Teen Pregnancy Prevention Alliance, and Youth Leadership Team.
