## Description

The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) is a pivotal government body in India dedicated to fostering a robust heavy industry framework. It champions the engineering sectors, including machine tools, heavy electrical equipment, industrial machinery, and the automotive industry, to ensure global competitiveness. MHI oversees 29 central public sector enterprises (CPSEs) and promotes innovation through multiple schemes designed to modernize the sector and stimulate economic growth.

MHI's key initiatives include the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes that encourage domestic manufacturing of advanced automotive technologies and the development of electric vehicles (EVs). The ministry is actively involved in the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (FAME) schemes, aimed at enhancing electric mobility in India. Furthermore, MHI ensures the accessibility of products for individuals with disabilities through GST concessions.

With a vision for a technology-driven, eco-friendly heavy industry, the Ministry of Heavy Industries plays a crucial role in job creation and sustainable economic advancement in the region.
