## Description

Heemkundevereniging Wielder is a local heritage association dedicated to preserving and sharing knowledge about the history, antiquities and folklore of Wielder and the wider Limburg region. Founded in its current form on September 6, 2002, the association continues the work of the study club St. Augustinus, which began in 1956. Its purpose is to make local historical knowledge and expertise useful both today and for future generations, while encouraging cooperation with other associations concerned with Limburg’s broader history.

The association offers publications, including a periodical and books, and maintains an archive and links to related resources. It also shares news, hosts meetings and provides information about membership for people interested in local heritage. Through these activities, Heemkundevereniging Wielder supports the study and appreciation of the area’s past and helps connect people and organizations with a shared interest in Limburg’s history. Visitors can contact the association by email or through its website to learn more about its work, publications, meetings and membership.
