## Description

Utrechtse heim-weetjes is a Utrecht-focused history and storytelling project created by Iris Dijkstra, also known as Stadsgids030. Drawing on more than thirty years of calling Utrecht home, Dijkstra shares engaging facts and stories about the city’s places, people, traditions, and past. The website brings together written articles and short videos, including eight segments broadcast by RTV Utrecht in spring 2021. Topics range from the old Tivoli and the Maliebaan to Utrecht’s wharf cellars, historic churches, notable residents, street names, statues, and local customs. Visitors can also discover the Heim-weetjes book, which gathers stories about the city, and subscribe to a newsletter for updates. For a more personal experience, Dijkstra offers guided city walks, where participants can hear additional “secret facts” not shared on the website. Utrechtse heim-weetjes combines local history with accessible storytelling, helping residents and visitors explore the character and lesser-known details of Utrecht through reading, video, and guided walks.
