## Description

Hela Hałas is a medical biosciences student at Imperial College London whose work spans biomedical research, early-stage investing, entrepreneurship, and music. Based across London, Amsterdam, and Warsaw, she is President of Imperial Entrepreneurs, which she leads with Ryaan Sultan, and founded Imperial Ageing & Longevity, an Imperial society focused on the biology of ageing. As an analyst at Innovis VC, she sources and evaluates early-stage biotech and deep-tech ventures, while also working on growth at Emerald. Her experience includes strategy consulting on global market entry and go-to-market advice.

Hałas’s research is moving toward computational neurobiology through a project in the Matthews Lab at the UK Dementia Research Institute at Imperial, focused on selective neuronal vulnerability and genetic risk in Alzheimer’s disease. Her earlier laboratory work covered vascular and cancer cell biology, including CRISPR-Cas9 research into endothelial inflammation and studies of sucralose-induced apoptosis in colorectal cancer cells. She also brings a longstanding interest in the arts: she is a jazz pianist and composer with training at Berklee.
