## Description

The Brevard Indian River Lagoon Coalition (BIRLC) is a dedicated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to preserving and enhancing the Indian River Lagoon, one of the world's most biologically diverse estuaries. The coalition educates the community about the lagoon's vital ecosystems and encourages everyone to take action for its protection. Through initiatives like Lagoon Straight Talks, educational events, and the Voices for the Lagoon Podcast, BIRLC provides valuable insights and resources.

Members of the community are invited to become Lagoon Guardians and Heroes by volunteering or donating to support ongoing restoration projects and advocacy efforts. The coalition aims to foster a network of informed citizens, professionals, and dedicated volunteers, all passionate about safeguarding the lagoon's health for future generations. With a focus on stewardship and community involvement, BIRLC strives to ensure that the lagoon, home to more than 2,000 plant species, 700 fish species, and numerous threatened species, continues to thrive. Join BIRLC today and help make a difference!
