## Description

HEMA Copenhagen is a historical fencing club in Copenhagen, Denmark, dedicated to studying and practicing Historical European Martial Arts. Members learn techniques from fencing manuscripts and manuals dating from roughly 1400 to 1800, using modern, blunt training weapons designed to handle like their historical counterparts. The club trains with rapiers, sabres and longswords, drawing on traditions including Fabris, La Verdadera Destreza, British Military Sabre and Bolognese swordsmanship.

Training is led by instructors with experience across historical and modern fencing, including competitive achievements and expertise in several weapons. Beginners are welcome and typically start with a three-month introductory course; prior Olympic fencing experience can also be useful. Sessions are held at Spor10, Vasbygade 10, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 18:00 to 21:00. Participants need only sports clothes, indoor training shoes and water, as the club lends protective equipment and weapons. Membership is listed at 250 DKK per month, with a 10 DKK sign-up fee.
