## Description

H.E.M.S, or Hartbeespoort Emergency Medical Service, provides 24-hour ambulance, emergency medical, and fire and rescue services in the Hartbeespoort and Brits region. Serving the community since 2000, the organization responds to trauma and medical emergencies within a radius of approximately 100 kilometres around Brits and Hartbeespoort, including sections of the N4 Bakwena highway toward Rustenburg and Pretoria. Its mission is to preserve lives through professional conduct, dedication to humanity, and education.

Alongside emergency response, H.E.M.S offers first aid training at Levels 1, 2, and 3, delivered at its Brits premises or at a client’s site on request. The courses are accredited by the Department of Labour and the Health and Welfare SETA. The organization also provides event medical standby services tailored to clients’ needs, as well as specialized support for corporate mining clients. These projects can include onsite emergency medical services and clinics, occupational health support, emergency drills, risk assessments, and standby coverage. H.E.M.S also shares practical guidance on topics such as CPR, choking, burns, wounds, and stings.
