## Description

Hengjo is a coastal event venue on Hellesøy in northern Øygarden, about an hour’s drive from Bergen. Set beside the sea, it offers a distinctive setting for private celebrations, business events and community gatherings. The restored building is a cultural landmark dating to the early 1950s, when it was used to dry, mend and store fishing nets. Today, its historic character is paired with modern facilities.

Hengjo’s main hall accommodates up to 100 people, with a kitchen, bar, meeting room, toilets and cloakroom. Tables, chairs and tableware are available, and the venue has wheelchair access, including a lift. It is approved for wedding ceremonies by the Church of Norway. Guests can arrange their own cooking or catering, with local catering providers recommended. The venue is suitable for weddings, confirmations, anniversaries, birthdays, memorial gatherings, meetings, company functions and cultural events. Hengjo also hosts Hellesøydagen, an annual celebration of local community, culture and coastal traditions, and is supported by the volunteer organisation Hengjos venner.
