## Description

Herd-i is an intelligent herd health technology brand operated by Herd-i Operations Limited. Its mission is to improve the health and performance of dairy herds through automated monitoring and data. The system uses an in-shed camera to capture individual cows as they leave the milking shed, identifies each animal through its electronic identification tag, and analyses video footage using machine learning. It assesses gait for lameness and body condition, assigning scores according to DairyNZ systems. Farmers can view daily scores and cow images through a web-based dashboard, set thresholds and notifications, and place animals on a watchlist for drafting and follow-up. This supports early detection, treatment and monitoring of recovery, while giving farm teams clearer oversight of herd health. Herd-i also provides standard reports, with customised reporting described as coming soon. The company serves dairy farmers in New Zealand and the United States, and offers sales and customer support. Its website features information on lameness, body condition scoring, articles and insights, and the Herd-i platform.
