## Description

Herdict is a pioneering brand that collected and disseminated real-time, crowdsourced information about Internet filtering, denial of service attacks, and other blockages. Established in 2007 and running until 2019, Herdict was the first large-scale project of its kind based at the Berkman Klein Center at Harvard University. It aimed to provide a timely analysis of web accessibility around the world through the power of crowdsourcing. When individuals couldn't access a website, they reported their experience to Herdict via browser toolbars, email, Twitter, or Herdict.org. By aggregating this data, Herdict created a real-time map of global Internet health, allowing users to explore changes as they happened. With sorting and visualization options by country, URL, and date, users could gain valuable insights into Internet accessibility. Developed as a successor to the OpenNet Initiative, Herdict embraced crowdsourcing to present a more rough but up-to-date analysis. Overall, Herdict aimed to uncover the Herdict, or the web accessibility experiences of users worldwide.
