## Description

The Newfoundland and Labrador Heritage Website is a groundbreaking, non-commercial project dedicated to showcasing the rich history, culture, and geography of Newfoundland and Labrador. Established on November 25, 1997, as a collaboration between the Memorial University of Newfoundland and the C.R. Bronfman Foundation, this platform serves as an invaluable resource for students and the general public alike.

With over 1,500 in-depth articles, the website covers eight major themes: Indigenous Peoples, the Arts, Economy, Exploration and Settlement, the First World War, Government and Politics, Natural Environment, and Society and Culture. In addition to written content, users can access a diverse array of visual materials, including photographs, maps, artwork, and digitized audio/video clips. The site also offers documentary video series and is continuously updated to expand its offerings. Supported by numerous academic and governmental partners, the Newfoundland and Labrador Heritage Website stands as a vital tool for public education and engagement.
