Description
The Heritage Museum of Orange County is a historic destination located in Southern California. Spanning across 12 acres, the museum boasts a captivating plaza built in the 1890s, surrounded by beautiful floral gardens and citrus groves. One of the notable buildings within the museum is the Kellogg House, a beloved field trip spot for teachers and students in Orange County for over three decades.
The museum's mission is to preserve, promote, and restore the heritage of Orange County and the surrounding region. They achieve this through interactive educational programs suitable for individuals of all ages. The Gospel Swamp Farm and Gospel Swamp Natural Area are additional features at the museum, maintained by dedicated local high school and college volunteers.
The farm project not only offers a Borrowing Barn for tool lending but also utilizes its produce for children's educational programs and other museum events. Although the fully operational blacksmith shop unfortunately burned down in 2019, the museum has plans to rebuild it. The ongoing major campaign focuses on restoring the John A.
Maag Farmhouse, which will serve as an exhibition space, archives, and offices. Visit the Heritage Museum of Orange County to immerse yourself in the captivating history and natural beauty of the region
