## Description

Honoring our Heroes Marathon is a Missouri charity running and walking event dedicated to recognizing military service and raising funds for local veterans’ causes. Held in November in the Rolla area, the event welcomes participants of varied abilities, from those joining an Honor Walk to experienced distance runners. Its in-person races include a 5K, 10K, marathon relay, half marathon, and full marathon, with virtual options for several distances. Participants may also enter the HEROES Ruck division, carrying a 20-pound or 40-pound pack across eligible distances. The half and full marathons are Boston qualifiers and serve as USATF Ozark Association Open and Masters Championships. The course travels through scenic, hilly rural country and is almost entirely paved. Event offerings include a free pasta party during packet pickup, a post-race celebration, awards, volunteer opportunities, sponsorship opportunities, and a finisher medal and shirt for virtual participants. The organizers also offer a 50% registration discount for veterans, active military members, their spouses, and dependents, supporting an inclusive event centered on remembrance, community, and personal achievement.
