# Het Archief

- **Website:** <https://hetarchief.be>
- **Primary alias:** `hetarchief.be`

## Description

Visitors can search more than two million items from over 140 organisations across the Flemish media, culture and public sectors, including audio and video fragments, historical newspapers and other digital archive materials. The platform helps users explore collections, find source material for research and education, and discover topical or newly featured items. Some materials can be requested directly, depending on the collection and its provider.

hetarchief.be also connects visitors with related heritage resources. Teachers can learn about Het Archief voor Onderwijs, which offers registered educators free access to thousands of audio and video fragments for classroom use. For visual art and heritage, the platform points to artinflanders.be, where visitors can view and download images from Flemish museums and collections, and to Vlaamse Kunstcollectie for stories about artworks. Practical guidance is also available for identifying, preserving and digitising personal audiovisual and photographic materials.
