## Description

Het Buikencollectief is a Dutch client organization representing pregnant women in the country’s maternity and birth care system. Its aim is to help more women look back positively on pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period, while ensuring their perspectives are heard in research, policy and practice. The organization also advocates for improved parental leave, including through its campaign for “21st-century leave,” which calls for equal rights for parents, longer paid leave and leave after pregnancy loss.

For expectant parents, Het Buikencollectief offers free online courses on pregnancy and lifestyle. The pregnancy course uses short videos, exercises and workbooks to help participants prepare for birth, explore their choices, support their wellbeing and build confidence. It covers pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period, and includes access to a private online community. The organization also provides information and resources for healthcare professionals, who can share its course with patients and order promotional materials.
