## Description

He Tipu Taupō is a native plant nursery and community-focused enterprise growing eco-sourced plants in Taupō. Its plants support riparian planting, revegetation and farm waterway projects across Waikato, the Bay of Plenty and the Central North Island, with bulk orders welcome. Customers can order native plants and māra kai seedlings, and the organisation also shares news and information through its website.

The name He Tipu means “grow,” reflecting a broader purpose: supporting people’s careers, wellbeing and resilience while growing plants that benefit food production and the health of the land. Guided by mātauranga Māori, whakapapa and kaitiakitanga, He Tipu aims to protect and revitalise the whenua for current and future generations. The organisation is developing a 20-hectare site over six years into a living village that reflects its values and culture. Through its nursery and enterprise work, He Tipu connects plant growing with community development and its charitable mission, seeking to build skills, create opportunities and support those in need.
