## Description

Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is an independent and impartial aid organisation working in situations of poverty, exclusion, conflict and disaster. In Bangladesh, where it has operated since 1997, HI works alongside people with disabilities and other vulnerable communities to meet essential needs, improve living conditions and uphold dignity and fundamental rights. Its programme also supports forcibly displaced Rohingya people in Cox’s Bazar.

HI provides rehabilitation services, including prostheses, orthoses and therapy for malnourished children, as well as mental health and psychosocial support and protection from violence and abuse. To promote inclusion and independence, the organisation supports access to services, vocational training, microfinance, self-employment and wage employment. It also strengthens organisations of people with disabilities and builds the capacity of humanitarian partners.

Recognising Bangladesh’s exposure to cyclones, floods, landslides and other climate-related hazards, HI helps include people with disabilities in disaster risk reduction. In collaboration with local authorities, it supports preparedness and early action, including safe evacuation, shelter repairs, cash assistance, assistive devices and psychosocial care.
