## Description

Higashikawa, dubbed the "Town of Photography," is a unique community located in central Hokkaido, Japan, known for its commitment to fostering international exchanges through the art of photography. Since its declaration in 1985, Higashikawa has aimed to harmonize nature and culture while promoting a vibrant atmosphere open to the world.

The International High School Students’ Photo Festival Exchange, initiated in 2015, serves as a platform for high school students globally to engage and collaborate through photography. This prestigious festival invites submissions of thematic photographic series from participating countries such as China, Korea, Vietnam, and more. Selected schools are then invited to Higashikawa to showcase their work and deepen their friendships, promoting dialogue and peace through the universal medium of photography. The festival not only highlights artistic talents but also cultivates cross-cultural connections and mutual understanding among youth from diverse backgrounds.
